For many people, the skin on the hands is very sensitive and particularly exposed to external factors such as frost, heat, UV radiation or chemicals in cleaning products.
The current situation forces everyone to use all kinds of hand preparations that contain a high concentration of alcohol in their composition, which mainly causes intense drying of the skin and, with more neglect, leads to the formation of small cracks.
It is worth remembering that our hands are our business cardAfter the face and neck, it is the hands that show the passage of time. We don't have to use so-called high-end cosmetics to have beautiful and well-groomed hands.
Homemade hand treatments have the advantage that we can use ingredients that are in our kitchen drawers for them.
LOSS OF
The skin on the hands, as well as on the entire body, requires exfoliation of dead skin, making it much easier to moisturise, nourish and smoothen.
The use of a scrub that is designed for the body is highly recommended, provided that the skin on the hands is not already excessively damaged and cracked. Such a product can, of course, be prepared yourself at home.
For the preparation of the scrub we will need:
- juice of half a lemon
- Cane sugar (if you don't have any, you can use plain white sugar)
- teaspoon of honey
Mix everything together until a homogeneous consistency is formed, apply to hands and use movements similar to those used for washing hands. Repeat the process for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly under running water and gently dry your hands with a paper towel.
COOKING
Drinking flaxseed, provides large amounts of omega-3 acid, which soothes inflammation in the body. Flaxseed can also be used to create a bath for dry cracked and chapped hands.
To create such a bath we will need:
- 3 tbsp linseed
- glass of boiling water
Preparation:
Pour the water over the hay, allow to cool and then soak your hands in the decoction for 15 to 20 minutes. After this process, dry your hands with a paper towel.
The linseed bath surrounds the skin with a protective film, and also has a soothing effect on minor wounds and regenerates the skin on the hands.
DISTRIBUTION
On the other hand, the common problem of dry cuticles around the nails can be solved by rubbing olive oil into the area. This improves the condition of the nails and softens the cuticles. Systematic oiling of the cuticles already brings excellent results after a month.
REMOVAL OF DISCOLOURATION
Often colouring of the nail plate occurs as a result of applying colour polish directly to the nail plate. Sometimes an important step is forgotten, namely the application of a base coat to protect the nail plate from such discolouration. To combat this type of problem, rubbing lemon and baking soda into the nail plate works well.
Cut the lemon in half or in quarters, then sprinkle baking soda on it and rub it into the plate for 1 minute on one nail. Then rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry the plate.
MOISTURISING
Generally available hand moisturisers can make daily care easier. When buying hand creams, attention should be paid to their composition. Most importantly, they should be based on butter or vegetable oils and contain natural moisturisers such as glycerine and urea. It is also good for the cream to contain vitamins A, C and E, which protect against free radicals and enhance skin brightening. However, creams should not contain parabens, silicones, artificial substances or fragrances.
Let's remember basic steps such as moisturising our hands daily or wearing gloves when doing household chores, especially when using intensive chemical cleaning products . This will protect our hands from the accelerated ageing process or the formation of unsightly discolourations and stains.
