May Day in the Tricity - What to do during May Day in the Tricity?
In the Tricity there are beautiful beaches, parks, surrounding forests. For a short walk and contact with nature it is worth going to the Sopot Forest, near the Leśna Polana housing estate. It is very close to the city and can even be reached by car. In the valley of the Kaczej River there is a Nature Reserve that treats us to wonderful views. It is also worth going to Oliwa Park and Jaskowa Valley Park, where there is a charming forest. These are the green lungs of Wrzeszcz, one of the most popular districts in Gdańsk. In addition to trees and forest paths, there is an old Forest Theatre from 1911 and a viewpoint overlooking the city. The history of Jaskowa Dolina Park dates back to the early 19th century. It was then that a Danzig citizen, Johannes Labes, established a walking promenade on the Fox Hill and, with a magnificent gesture, made it available to the residents. To this day, it is still of great importance to them, so a stroll through the historic surroundings of the Jewish cemetery and the hills named after the Prussian royal family is almost obligatory.
